Congratulations to the U12 FC Kentucky Girls on winning the Beat the Heat Tournament in Elizabethtown. The team went 3-0-1 out scoring the teams 14-2! Way to go girls!
What would you give to not have to use the dreaded porta potties?
Over the last several months a committe comprised of FC Kentucky, the Winchester Youth Soccer League and the Winchester Parks and Recreation Dept have been working on a Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant Application that was submitted on April 30, 2012. This is federal money that is used to promote the development and enhancement of parks, hiking trails, ball fields and soccer fields to name just a few. This grant is a 50/50 match grant up to $75,000.
Your help is needed on how to best raise the $75,000 matching requirement of the grant. Everyone must work as a team to see this project thru to its completion. Some monetary and in kind donations have already been given, but there is still a ways to go. If you can do some of the work, know people who can, or know some individuals and businesses that would be willing to donate, please pursue these leads.
What can you do to make this project happen?
If you know of someone who can do any of the work listed below, who might be willing to donate their time or necessary materials, please contact Leo Shortridge at 859-744-8383 or Mike Vanhooser at 859-351-5631.
